Young Major William Pate was the seventh child born to the parents of Samuel Pate and Susan Kite on August 6, 1845 in Fayette County, Georgia, died on January 20, 1931 in Linden, Cass County, Texas at age 85, and was buried in Center Grove Cemetery, Linden, Cass County, Texas.
